Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Gloster Gladiator biplane fighter in 1:72 scale from Airfix. The kit lets you build either the Mk.I or the Mk.II version and offers two marking schemes. As with any biplane, expect to add bracing wires between the wings. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last biplane fighter in front-line service with the Royal Air Force. It entered service in the second half of the 1930s and, although it was already obsolete by the time of the Second World War, it proved itself in combat on a number of fronts, among them the defense of Malta and the campaign in Norway. It had an enclosed canopy, which was a novelty on biplanes, and four machine guns. The Mk.II version had a more powerful engine and some production changes.
On a biplane, the key is the accurate seating of the upper wing on the struts and then the rigging; the bracing wires can be reproduced with fine thread or with elastic rigging material after the clear coat. Paint the cockpit interior before closing the fuselage. Glue with liquid cement for plastic, apply primer and the colors with an airbrush or a brush, and apply the decals onto a gloss clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
