A kit of a German light cross-country truck in the personnel carrier version, in the configuration for service in North Africa. It is a combined model: the base is formed by injection-molded plastic parts supplemented with a set of photo-etched metal parts and resin wheels. This combination allows a higher level of detail, but it also makes greater demands on the builder's experience.
A light truck of this class came about as part of an effort to unify the varied vehicle park of the German armed forces. The vehicles served to carry personnel and materiel and appeared in the African theater as well, where some of the equipment fell into Allied hands and was used further. The open bed and the simple design made it a universal means of transport.
As with short-run kits it is best to dry-fit the parts first and clean up the casting residue. Wash the resin wheels free of mold release agent and bond them with super glue; bend the photo-etch over a metal bar. Sand and yellow-brown shades suit the African scheme, finished with a dusty patina and fine chipping of the paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
