The Humvee is an American light tactical vehicle that appeared in a whole range of versions, from transport and ambulance to armed. The cab is simple and functional, with a clear instrument panel and a conspicuously wide tunnel between the front seats. On a model the interior is visible through the open doors and from above, so it is worth investing time in it.
The set brings three-dimensionally printed colored interior decals on decal paper. They cover the instrument panel, the control panels and other surfaces of the cab. The elements have a raised relief and carry finished colors including the lettering, so painting the small gauges with a brush is no longer needed. The set is laid out for the Humvee vehicle kits from ICM in 1:35 scale and is offered as a set for the whole family of these vehicles.
The elements have no adhesive layer of their own: the part is cut out of the sheet, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing paper into place. Paint the interior surfaces first, let them dry thoroughly and go over them with a gloss clear coat of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type; on a smooth gloss surface the element grips reliably, and in broken-up places a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal setter, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin. Cut the individual parts out with a sharp blade right at the edge of the print and transfer them with tweezers with blunt jaws. On larger areas, lay the element down from the center toward the edges and press only lightly so that the relief is not crushed.
The set suits modelers who want to build the model with the doors open or without the roof and need the interior to stand up to close inspection. It calls for no cutting into plastic, so even a less experienced builder will manage it.
