Omask 1:72 Me-262 — Wheel Bay Plugs (for Revell) are shaped foam plugs that seal the model's bays for spraying. It is not a kit, but a masking accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
Shaped flexible foam plugs that are placed into a Me 262 model's wheel bays and seal them while spraying. This is not a kit — it is a modeling aid. The plastic model itself is not included in the package.
A wheel bay is a deep cavity that a modeler paints early on. Once the model is then sprayed from the outside, the bay must be masked, or overspray will get in and ruin the finished interior. Tape and cotton mask a deep, irregular cavity poorly and still do not seal it. A plug fits precisely into the bay and seals it in one motion — insert it, spray the model, and pull the plug out once dry. It also protects against sanding dust and dirt during the rest of the build. Note: the nose bay and the main wheel bays of the Me 262 differ in shape and size, so each is masked with its own plug.
This set is shaped to match the wheel bays of the Me 262 kit from Revell in 1:72 scale. It will not fit a model from a different brand or in a different scale. Before buying, check whose model is in your box — several manufacturers offer the Me 262 in 1:72, and their bays differ.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter in the world used in combat — it entered service with the Luftwaffe in 1944. Its hallmark is a swept wing and a pair of engine nacelles slung under the wings, along with tricycle landing gear. It is precisely this three-point landing gear that makes the bays conspicuous openings, visible on a finished model.
The plugs are not a kit or replacement parts. They are only a masking aid and are removed before the model is finished.
