A turned metal pitot tube for the MiG-25PD/PDS (Foxbat E) in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker MASTER, an accurate replacement for the plastic kit part.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not an aircraft model. The turned brass pitot (air data) tube replaces the inaccurate plastic part from the MiG-25PD/PDS kit in 1:72 scale. Metal holds precise geometry, has a sharper tip and is tougher than thin plastic, which bends easily. An accurate probe shape also noticeably improves the overall impression of the nose of the finished model.
The MiG-25 (NATO reporting name Foxbat) was a Soviet high-speed interceptor and reconnaissance aircraft capable of extreme speeds and great altitudes. The PD and PDS versions (Foxbat E) were upgraded interceptor variants with an improved radar and sensor equipment. The set reproduces their characteristic nose pitot tube.
Cut off the plastic tube, drill a hole of the correct diameter and glue the metal part in with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the brass before painting and give it a coat of primer. The part is tiny, so work with tweezers.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
