Figures of OV-10A Bronco pilots standing in 1:72 scale from Reskit, in the variant given as type 1.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin figures in 1:72 scale to go with models of the original version of the Bronco. The name speaks of two pilots in a standing pose and labels the variant as type 1. Unlike sets meant for the cockpit, these figures are intended beside the machine, where they openly serve as a size reference and at the same time liven up an otherwise static display case.
The OV-10A was the first production version of the Bronco and it found its main working use in Vietnam in forward air control, reconnaissance and light strikes. The machine was designed to operate from improvised strips and to survive hits from light weapons. It gave the crew an exceptional view downward, which was essential for their tasks.
Flying gear of that period looks restrained, so it pays to look for difference in shades rather than in variety. The flight suit, the harness and the boots each take a different saturation of the same tone. Add a dark line into every seam and light chipping on the raised areas and the figure looks worn and alive. Leave the helmet glossier than the rest. A light base under the flesh tone helps keep the face from turning gray in the end.
The box holds the figures; the aircraft itself and the paints are not part of it.
