A plastic kit of the American multipurpose Piasecki H-25A Army Mule helicopter in 1:72 scale from the maker Amodel. It is an injection-molded model with short-run characteristics: a sprue frame with the parts, a clear cabin and a decal sheet. The model is assembled and painted.
H-25A Army Mule was the army designation of the tandem-rotor helicopter of the Piasecki HUP Retriever family. The pair of counter-rotating main rotors placed at the beginning and the end of the fuselage removed the need for a tail rotor and allowed a compact design with a roomy cabin. It was powered by a radial piston engine. The machine served in the fifties for carrying cargo, for liaison and for transporting the wounded.
With a short-run mold, expect careful cleaning up of the mold seams and the excess, and dry-fitting the parts first is ideal. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, and on thin edges rather drop by drop. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting to unify the surface, and finish off with an airbrush. Mask the clear cabin and glue it in only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
