A plastic kit of the Polish PZL P.24G fighter, a high-wing monoplane, in Greek service, 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The PZL P.24 was a Polish fighter, a high-wing monoplane with the characteristic high gull wing of the so-called Polish type, which the Polish design school had already used on the earlier types of the P series and which gave the pilot a clear view upwards. It was created as the export development branch of that family, it was powered by an air-cooled radial engine and it never entered Polish service. Several foreign users took it instead, among them Greece, and the Greek machines saw combat against Italian forces.
An injection-molded plastic model in 1:72 scale in the Greek version under the designation P.24G. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the range of parts, decals and any further equipment is given in the instructions and on the packaging.
Go through the instructions first and think over the order of work: on a high-wing monoplane with braced landing gear a number of joints are harder to reach with a brush once the model is glued together. Finish and paint the cockpit and the interior before you close the fuselage. The canopy glazing is best masked with tape before spraying, not after the paint has dried. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and use a decal softener on articulated areas.
The model will please anyone interested in the aviation of central and southeastern Europe in the 1930s and everyone who likes aircraft with a gull wing. A build in 1:72 scale is of ordinary difficulty, only the small landing gear parts call for tweezers and a steady hand. Paints, glue and clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
