A standing female figure in the type 2 rendering, intended for models of the single-seat versions of the French machine. In the smaller scale it is a fairly rare item, because the choice of figures in 1:72 tends to be limited and female figures are the ones most missing from it. The name gives one piece.

A pair that looks natural

A male rendering of the same variant exists in the same range and scale. Stood side by side they make a pair that looks credible on an airfield apron and at the same time does not visually repeat itself. For a scene with two aircraft it is the easiest way to avoid the impression of copied figures.

Where the figure comes into its own

The obvious places are the area beside the model, the space by the steps or the front part of an airfield base. Avoid standing it directly behind the aircraft, where the tail will hide it. Ideal is a spot where it forms a counterweight to the mass of the machine and at the same time does not disturb its outline, that is roughly by the wingtip.

Finishing tips

• Choose a shade for the flight suit that differs from the surface under the model.
• Apply the lightest tone only to the crown of the head and the shoulders.
• Suggest small accessories with paint rather than by carving them.
• Give the finished figure a light matte clear coat, as gloss is distracting.
• Anchor the figure so that it does not tip over when the display case is handled.
• Choose a rather darker color for the face, as a light area looks flat when scaled down.
