A competition aircraft spends more time on the ground than in the air. Over the course of a day the small things the crew cannot do without gather around it: intake covers, supports, containers, pins and other equipment that helps keep the machine running between flights. These things give a model a story, because otherwise it stays only a shape on a base.
The set is intended for the Su-31 in 1:48 scale and completes exactly this part of the scene. It pays to think ahead with it: once you know how many objects you will be placing, it is easier to choose the size of the base and the angle from which the scene will look best.
Start the painting with the smallest pieces, while they can still be held with tweezers, and wait with the base until they are finished. It is also useful to leave some of the objects scuffed and dusty, as freshly varnished support equipment beside a machine in use looks out of place. The aircraft itself and a base for the scene are not in the package.
