Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from modern IBG tooling. This boxing captures the tropical version of the legendary Spitfire Mk Vb fighter with the characteristic Vokes dust filter under the nose and with schemes for machines deployed in North Africa in 1942 and 1943.
The Spitfire Mk V was the most widespread variant of the Spitfire of the first half of the war, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine. The Vb version carried an armament of two Hispano cannons and four machine guns. The tropical modification added a bulky sand filter that protected the engine from dust in desert conditions, at the cost of a slight loss of performance. Aircraft of this version formed the backbone of the Allied fighter force in the North African campaign.
Glue with a thin cement for plastic, cut the fine parts off with a sharp knife and clean them up with a file. Apply a base color before painting and lay the shades down with an airbrush. Bring out the desert camouflage with fine weathering and dust pigments on the lower surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
