Nine Venturi tubes in 1:72 scale, 3D-printed in resin. A replacement for a coarse or missing molded part on the fuselage of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Venturi tube is a narrowed tube mounted on the outside of the fuselage. The air flowing through it in flight creates suction at the narrowest point, and that suction drives the gyroscopic instruments in the cockpit, the artificial horizon and the turn indicator. Aircraft without an engine-driven vacuum pump could not do without it, and it stands out on the fuselage even in a small scale.
The package holds nine pieces in 1:72 scale. The parts are 3D-printed in resin, which on a shape this small allows thinner walls and a sharper mouth edge than injection-molded plastic can give. Nine pieces are enough for several models and for a spare, should the part get lost during the build. The set is not tied to one particular kit.
The printed parts are held on thin print supports. Cut them off with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remaining stub down with fine sandpaper, so that the shape of the tube is not damaged. Then wash and degrease the surface, because print resin residue keeps the paint from adhering. The parts are not polystyrene, so bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Fit the tube only after the main painting of the fuselage, and given its size work over a mat or a bowl so that the part does not disappear into the carpet.
The set suits modelers of interwar aircraft and early Second World War machines in 1:72 scale whose otherwise fine fuselage is spoiled by a coarse plastic molding. The package contains the parts listed; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
