This is a resin set of replacement wheels from Reskit intended for models of the Vought F-8E/F-8J/F-8P Crusader in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the box with more faithfully made parts with a sharper tire tread and hub tracery. The Type 2 designation refers to one particular wheel version used on these Crusader versions.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was an American supersonic carrier fighter of the late 1950s and early 1960s, characterized by its variable-incidence wing. Among other things it was used during the war in Vietnam and became famous as one of the last fighters with heavy gun armament.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting blocks, wash them free of any remains of the mold release agent and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is best to paint the tire and the hub separately, as that makes masking easier. Protect your airways while sanding and cleaning up resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
