An injection-molded plastic kit of the Westland Lynx HMA.8 shipborne helicopter in Royal Navy form. The model captures the late naval version of the Lynx line, the Super Lynx, with modernized avionics and sensor equipment. The box holds gray plastic and a clear cabin part, finely engraved panel lines and a decal sheet. Treat the particular contents of the package as indicative.
The Westland Lynx is a British twin-engined multi-purpose helicopter whose naval version served against surface ships and submarines, on reconnaissance and on rescue duties. The HMA.8 version is among the modernized machines with advanced avionics, a reworked rotor with BERP tips and the ability to carry anti-ship guided missiles. The Lynx operated from the decks of frigates and destroyers and also became famous as the fastest production helicopter in history.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and join them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Finish painting the interior and the crew before you fit the cabin glazing, because access is limited once it is in. A primer coat and spraying with an airbrush are worth doing. The naval camouflage in dark gray shades stands out with the panels picked out gently and with restrained weathering. Mask the clear part and paint it last of all.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
