Two plastic models in 1:76 scale: the Buffalo amphibious tracked vehicle and the Willys MB light off-road vehicle. The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
Buffalo was the British designation of an American amphibious tracked vehicle that could drive straight out of the water onto the bank and that served at the end of the Second World War in crossing rivers and flooded ground. It looks like a bathtub on tracks and cannot be mistaken for anything else. The Willys MB is a tiddler next to it: a light off-road vehicle that became the most widespread Allied vehicle of its class during its service and turned up on practically every battlefield.
Two injection-molded plastic models in 1:76 scale, that is, close in size to OO gauge model railways. The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted; the exact extent of the parts and decals is given in the instructions and on the packaging.
Parts in this scale are small, so separate them with nippers and sand the sprue nub down, otherwise the plastic will break off along with the detail. Paint the vehicles with a base color, then apply a darker wash into the recesses and seams and bring out the edges with a dry brush. The wheels and tracks are among the dirtiest places; pigments and mud look natural there as long as you stay on the lower half of the vehicle.
The pair suits dioramas with a landing or river theme and railway accessories in the same gauge. The difference in size between the two vehicles also gives the scene a sense of scale that a single model can never show. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
