The plastic kit of the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP sports motorcycle in 1:9 scale from Magic Factory comes in the Pre-Coloured version, meaning with parts molded in color. That means the main color areas are available straight away in the color of the plastic and the build gets by without extensive painting. The 1:9 scale gives the model a size in which the detail of the frame, the engine and the running gear components is easy to read.
The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is Honda's flagship sports model, derived from circuit racing. It was powered by a liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine of one liter, and the whole concept, from the aluminum frame through the aerodynamic elements of the fairing to the rider's position, follows racing use. The SP version differs from the basic one in its higher-grade suspension and brake components. For the modeler it is a subject with sharp fairing edges and a technically rich chassis, where it is worth spending time on exactly those areas that stay visible.
Do not handle the pre-colored parts with your fingers more than you have to, and degrease them before gluing; fingerprints show on a glossy surface. Use cement sparingly and apply it from the back, because an excess on a visible surface will mark the colored finish permanently. Cut the sprue gates off with nippers at a distance and trim the remainder, so that the paint does not chip at the edge. The frame and the engine come out nicely with a dark wash and a fine dry brush. The brake discs, the chain and the exhaust take metallic shades; the seat and the grips, on the other hand, a matte surface. Finally you can unify the surface with a varnish according to the gloss level you want.
The model is supplied unassembled, with the parts molded in color. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
