Within the Mecha Color palette the Titan Dark Blue name belongs to a group of shades with a higher proportion of pigment and lower lightness. Tone 69.022 is the darkest blue of them: it falls almost to a night value, but under side lighting it still behaves as a blue rather than a gray. That is exactly why modelers take it for the undersides of hulls, for the inner faces of covers and for the shaded parts of joint assemblies.
The high pigment content shows on the very first pass, so fewer coats are needed than with lighter tones. At the same time it means the paint needs thorough shaking so that the settled pigment is dispersed again. If it is mixed with a light color, go drop by drop; the ratio tips very quickly and once there is too much of the dark tone, the light component will not catch up.
Paints with pigmentation this dense separate in the bottle faster than transparent tones. Keep them upright, away from frost and direct sun, and shake the bottle properly before every session. Adding a mixing ball now and then will speed the work up, but it has to be stainless steel so that it does not corrode and shift the resulting shade.
