7K Russian Tan 17ml

Vallejo Model Air 7K Russian Tan, 17 ml

An opaque water-based acrylic paint from the Model Air range. The shade is brown-sand, earthy and slightly grayed, that is the kind of color used as a supplementary component of multi-color camouflage on ground vehicles. The designation 7K in the name is a period abbreviation of the shade, not a catalog number of the volume or the package.

Shaking and the behavior of the pigment

• Earthy shades contain heavier pigments that settle to the bottom during storage. Shake the bottle for at least half a minute, until you hear the contents moving freely.
• It is worth putting a stainless steel mixing ball into the bottle. Without one the sediment at the bottom is only partly stirred in and the first pass comes out lighter than the last.
• Do not mix the paint by shaking it violently right before spraying, as foam forms and there are then bubbles in the spray.
• When spraying one area for a long time, put the airbrush down occasionally and stir the contents of the cup with the needle, because the pigment settles there too.
• The shade looks different in the bottle and different once dry on the model — always make a test spray on a scrap.

Who the paint is for

It is suitable for modelers of ground vehicles who put multi-color camouflage together and need an earthy component that holds its tone even once dry. The Model Air range goes well with other shades of the same range, so you can move smoothly to a lighter or darker tone without mixing different chemistries.

A water-based acrylic paint. When spraying, provide extraction or thorough ventilation and use a respirator. Keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost.
