A yellow-green tone is one of those colors that can be mixed from an ordinary palette, but rarely exactly and never the same twice. Anyone who needs to top the same color up even a year later will appreciate that the line offers it ready made in a bottle. The result is fresh, pronounced and fairly light.

It finds use on agricultural and construction machinery, on sports equipment, on advertising liveries and on fantasy subjects, where any color stepping out of military gray is welcome. Next to a dark green it forms a contrasting pair that works on a finished model.

Spraying advice

• light tones come out best over a white or light gray undercoat
• keep the pressure low, otherwise a light paint sprays into the surroundings
• let the surface flash off between passes so that the coats do not dissolve each other
• close the bottle carefully after drawing paint out

Working with water-thinnable acrylics is very predictable as long as a few rules are kept. The paint dries quickly, it does not smell like lacquer and the tools are easy to clean afterwards while the coat is fresh. Dried residue already calls for the cleaner that the manufacturer supplies separately for this line.

Light and striking colors are among those where planning the sequence in advance pays off most. First the base, then a continuous area of the shade, then the masking for the other colors, the decals, and the protective coat of varnish last. The reverse order usually ends with the light tone getting dirtied by the darker colors and having to be sprayed again.
