A collection of period racing photographs of the BMW 320 E21 Turbo is a picture publication, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A picture publication from the line built on period photographs taken at the races themselves. It is neither a kit nor a set of building instructions. The publication is devoted to the racing BMW 320 of the E21 generation with a turbocharged engine.
A photograph of a car in a museum shows a machine polished and often rebuilt according to how it survived. A period shot from a race, by contrast, catches the car as it really ran: with dirt on the fenders, with lettering taped over, with damage from contact and with parts that changed during the weekend. For a modeler who wants to build one particular machine from one particular race, it is the only dependable source.
The racing BMW 320 of the first generation was built for a category in which an ordinary production coupe became almost a machine of its own: only the silhouette remained, and under it a high-output turbocharged four-cylinder, wide fenders and extensive aerodynamics. Cars of this class counted in the second half of the 1970s as the wildest ever to appear on the circuits, and their liveries are among the best known there are.
