Camouflage Grey Green is an acrylic paint from the Vallejo Model Air range. The name describes the shade itself: a muted green pulled strongly toward gray, that is a color with no brightness at all, of the kind used on camouflage areas. The binder is water-thinnable, the paint is thinned with acrylic thinner, and in a 17 ml dropper bottle it can be measured out drop by drop. The consistency is set for an airbrush directly.
A camouflage shade is rarely sprayed on its own — almost always an edge is created against another color, and that edge is what decides how the model turns out. A sharp edge comes from masking tape or a cut mask pressed down along the whole perimeter; spray the paint onto it at a right angle, not at an angle from outside inward, as otherwise it will run under the edge. A soft edge is obtained by spraying freely from very close up at low pressure, or by shimming the mask with a piece of putty and leaving it lifted slightly above the surface. Lift the mask while the paint has only just dried, not after it has fully cured — that lowers the risk of pulling away the layer of paint beneath it as well.
