IJA Olive Green 17ml

Vallejo Model Air IJA Olive Green, 17 ml

A covering water-based acrylic paint from the Model Air range. The shade is olive green, somewhat warmer and lighter than the dark greens of the same range, so it suits use as a main tone and as a component for lightening. The consistency is set by the manufacturer for the airbrush.

Mixing shades and modulation

• Shades within one acrylic range can be mixed with each other without worry, because they share the same binder and a similar drying time.
• For color modulation prepare three derived tones: the base, one lightened by adding a light sandy or beige color and one darkened with a drop of brown.
• Always mix a little more than you need. Making up exactly the same ratio afterwards is all but impossible.
• Do not mix paints from different chemistries, that is an acrylic with a lacquer or with a synthetic enamel, as the binders will curdle each other.
• Note the mixed shade down in drops, not by eye. A ratio such as six to one is repeatable; a guess is not.

Who the paint is for

The paint will be put to use by modelers who work with modulation and graded shades, that is not only with a single even coat. It also serves well as a middle tone for the gradual lightening of upper surfaces. A dropper bottle makes dosing drop by drop considerably simpler.

A water-based acrylic paint. Do not mix it with lacquers or synthetic enamels. Ventilate when spraying, protect your airways and keep out of the reach of children.
