A single bottle of acrylic paint from the Model Color line by the Spanish brand Vallejo. It is not a kit or an add-on for one, but paint in a single shade. The name describes a faded red pulled toward gray, the tone of bleached cloth, a worn uniform, an old coat of paint or weathered wood. The MC747 designation is the manufacturer's part number within the line and it is useful, because the same color name can live in several lines from one maker with different properties.
Model Color is a water-thinnable acrylic. It is deliberately thicker, because it is built above all for the brush: it holds well on an edge, does not run into engraved lines and takes stippling. For the airbrush it therefore has to be prepared, or it will clog the nozzle. It dries to a matte surface that takes weathering and drybrushing well. The paint contains no aggressive solvents, but ventilate the area during longer sessions.
For figure painters and diorama builders who work mostly with a brush and need a red without signal harshness. It serves modelers of hardware well too, because a tone pulled back like this reads realistically the moment it goes on and needs no extra toning down. For airbrush work, count on preparing the paint.
