Kh-59MK2 guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the modern Russian Kh-59MK2 guided missile with an angular body, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Russian Kh-59MK2 guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The angular body with its sharp edges comes out of the print exactly, whereas a mold would have to round it off.
The Kh-59MK2 is a modern Russian longer-range air-to-ground guided missile that differs fundamentally in shape from the older members of the family. The body has an angular cross-section with flat sides, which lowers the radar cross-section and makes it possible to carry the missile in the internal bays of an aircraft as well. It is guided by a stored map of the terrain and by satellite navigation, so after launch it does not need the aircraft. It is intended against fixed ground targets.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
