A resin set of landing gear wheels for a MiG-27 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Printing in resin allows the tread pattern and the detail of the hub to be rendered in one piece, so the parting line that runs across the middle of a plastic wheel disappears. It is not a kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The MiG-27 is the attack and strike version derived from the fighter with a variable-geometry wing. Unlike its fighter predecessor it received a simpler nose without a large radar, a different system for working against ground targets and above all landing gear adapted to operating from less prepared surfaces. That is precisely why its wheels are wider and differently arranged than those of the fighter version, which shows clearly on a model.
Cut the supports off after printing with a scalpel and level the spot with a file, so that the wheel sits square. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise paint holds badly on the smooth resin. Paint the tire in a dark gray and the hub separately, following the real thing. A little dust applied with pigment to the lower part of the tread gives the wheel some weight.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
