A light blue shade from a water-thinnable acrylic range for modelers. A 10 ml bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
This shade from the Hobby Color acrylic range is mixed as a calm light blue with no shift toward green. It comes into its own on the undersides of aircraft, in the light fields of camouflages, in cockpit interiors and everywhere blue should look faded rather than loud. It also takes further toning down with a drop of white or gray well.
The bottle holds 10 ml. The binder is water-based, so the paint is thinned with water or with the maker's own thinner and the brushes can be washed out before it dries.
The contents have to be stirred thoroughly before work. The pigment settles at the bottom while standing, and paint that has not been stirred then covers unevenly and dries into patches. For an airbrush it is thinned to roughly the consistency of milk and applied in several light passes; a single heavy layer floods the fine detail and leaves a grainy trace.
With a brush it is worked undiluted or with just a drop of water. The dry film becomes touch-resistant quickly, but it needs longer to cure fully, so apply masking tape only after some time has passed.
After use, wipe the thread and tighten the bottle carefully, otherwise the residue on the rim will dry and the cap will not come loose next time. Store the paint in a heated room above freezing; frost will break the water-based dispersion irreversibly.
Keep the remainder of a mixed tone in a small sealable container and label it. Hitting exactly the same mixture later is almost impossible and a repair to a scuffed spot will always show through. Before you start such a repair, let the area cure completely.
