Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of landing gear bays for a Su-30SM model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. On a model with the landing gear down the bay is open and the viewer can see into it, yet a plastic kit usually handles it as a smooth recess. Printing in resin allows the ribbing, the pipework and the structural members inside to be rendered. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
The space into which the landing gear of the Su-30SM retracts is not an empty cavity: hydraulic and electrical lines run through it, and there are locks, struts and structural members. This tangle is precisely an opportunity for a modeler to bring a model to life, because it is the first thing anyone looking from below sees. On the real machine the bays are also often grimy from hydraulic oil and from runway dust.
Test-fit the parts dry before you glue the fuselage halves together; resin inserts tend to be bulkier than plastic ones. Cut the supports off with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Spray and weather the bay before you close it into the airframe. A faint dark touch into the recesses brings out the ribbing and the pipework.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
