Landing gear bay doors for the Su-30 in 1:48 scale are a 3D-printed resin accessory from Temp Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of landing gear bay doors for a Su-30 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. On the real aircraft the doors are thin sheets with a ribbed inner face, whereas in a plastic kit they tend to be needlessly thick and smooth inside. Printing in resin manages both: the small thickness and the internal detail. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
On a model with the landing gear down the doors hang open and the viewer looks straight at their inner face. On the real machine a stiffener runs there, part of the pipework is carried there and the surface tends to be dirty from hydraulic oil and runway dust. That is exactly why the thickness of a door is one of the details by which a model built with care is recognized.
Release the parts from the supports with a new blade over a working surface; thin surfaces crack. Remove the original plastic doors from the kit and smooth the recesses left behind. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray and weather the inner face separately, and only then fit the door with cyanoacrylate glue.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
