A ten milliliter bottle from the Gunze Mr. Color lacquer range, listed under the serial number 132 in the manufacturer's color chart.
Responsibility details are not available.
The range this bottle belongs to was created for modelers who want to hit a shade first time and without mixing. Every number in it matches one fixed tone from the manufacturer's color chart, so it can be ordered again and again in the certainty that the next bottle will look the same as the last. That is exactly why these paints are popular with builders who finish a model in stages over several months.
Chemically this is not a water-thinnable acrylic but a lacquer: the binder is solvent-based. Everything else follows from that. A sprayed coat dries in the order of tens of minutes, the resulting film is thin and hard, so it does not bury fine panel engraving, and once cured it can be masked and sanded without worry. It is thinned with the thinner of the same brand; thicker bottles take more thinner and thin ones less.
It is applied with an airbrush. A pressure of around one atmosphere and several thin passes give a smoother surface than one heavy coat, which easily runs into the detail. The work belongs by an open window or under extraction.
Before spraying a whole model it is sensible to try the paint on a piece of scrap plastic. The real tone shows only once dry and usually differs from the wet paint in the cup.
The serial number on the label has one more advantage: it makes restocking easier. Anyone who notes down the bottles used on a model under construction will pick up the same tone even after several months, without having to test or mix anything.
