What the accessory is for

In 1:72 scale a whole position fits on the base, not just the area around one vehicle. All the more noticeable, then, when the ground around the equipment is empty. Empty cartridge cases scattered behind the rear of the turret and around the tracks are a simple and readable way to give the scene some action: the viewer sees that firing took place here before looking at anything else.

What the set contains

The set consists of separate empty cases from 115 mm ammunition in 1:72 scale. The caliber matches the smoothbore gun the Soviet T-62 tank was armed with. The parts are not meant for one particular kit; you can place them in any scene of the same scale where a firing position or the support area of a unit should be apparent.

Building and painting tips

• Paint the parts away from the scene, held on a piece of double-sided tape, or you will lose them while you work.
• Thin the paint, because a heavy coat would flood the small shape and the cases would merge with the groundwork.
• Check the finish against a photograph of the real thing.
• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let them dry completely.
• Dose the cyanoacrylate glue with the tip of a toothpick, because a drop from the bottle is too large for this size.
• Scatter the pieces in an irregular group and sink some of them into dust or into grass.
