A Titans Hobby riveting tool, set number 5, with a spacing prepared for the large scales 1:32 and 1:24. It makes regular rows of rivets on the surface of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the large scales every rivet reads on its own. An irregular spacing or a slightly wavy row cannot be hidden under paint here and draws the eye before the well-made rest of the build does. A riveting tool holds the distance between the impressions for the modeler, so the result depends mainly on a steady hand and constant pressure.
Set number 5 has a spacing matching the scales 1:32 and 1:24. It is therefore aimed at large aircraft models and at car and motorcycle kits in these scales, where the surfaces tend to be wide and a row of rivets runs across a whole part. On small models the same spacing would look too coarse; sets with a tighter spacing are meant for those.
Divide large areas into shorter sections and between them always set the tool back into the last impression, so that the row continues. A metal ruler serves as a guide on flat parts and a strip of masking tape on curves. Keep the pressure light and constant; a thin plastic molding can be pushed through or made wavy under greater force. Make a test on an offcut of the sprue. Take the burrs off with a fine abrasive when you are done, otherwise paint will settle in them while spraying.
For the modeler in the large scales who is restoring riveting after filling or adding it where the kit does not have it. The package contains the tool; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
