The name places the publication with modeling work in polystyrene material, that is, with the sheet, strip, profile and tube that are sold as stock and from which a modeler makes parts themselves. Evergreen is a name known precisely from this range. The extent, the language and the structure of the chapters can be found in the imprint and in the table of contents of the publication.
Once a modeler tries making a missing part from a profile, a whole area of work opens up that a kit on its own does not allow. Bulkheads, platforms, crates, frames and fillers are made from sheet and strip, missing parts of components are repaired, and elements of a diorama that cannot be bought ready-made are built. The material can be cut with a knife and glued with ordinary cement for polystyrene, so the barrier to entry is low.
For modelers who want to move from building to instructions toward their own modifications, and for builders of dioramas, where most of the elements of a scene are made to measure. It is also useful for anyone restoring older models who needs to replace missing parts.
