F-4E Phantom II USAF Early Vietnam War is a wittily stylized plastic kit of the legendary American fighter-bomber in a cute cartoon egg form.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the range of shortened, caricatured aircraft models. The fuselage and the wings are deliberately pulled into a bulbous egg shape, yet they keep the characteristic features of the Phantom. The set holds clear parts for the cockpit, decals and two pilot figures. Typical external stores are included as well: AIM-9 and AIM-7 guided missiles and MK82 bombs with a multiple ejector rack.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II was a two-seat supersonic fighter-bomber and one of the most significant combat aircraft of the Cold War. The E version brought a built-in rotary cannon and improved radar, and in the early period of the Vietnam War it formed the backbone of American fighter and strike operations.
The parts are glued with modeling cement for plastic, and the clear parts better with cyanoacrylate glue or with canopy glue, so that they do not go dull. Thanks to the low part count the model suits a quick build; it is painted with a brush or an airbrush, and the joints can be filled and sanded back. The cartoon shape invites the bold camouflage schemes of the early Vietnam era.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
