Fluorescent Orange 17ml

AK interactive Fluorescent Orange 17 ml – fluorescent acrylic paint

Fluorescent Orange is a fluorescent (signal) orange from the AK interactive acrylic line. It is a water-thinnable acrylic in a 17 ml dropper bottle for the brush and the airbrush. This is not an ordinary covering orange – fluorescent shades have a different build than classic paints and they behave accordingly. Note: this is a modeling paint, not a kit or a model.

What you need to know before using it

• Very weak covering power. The fluorescent pigment is carried in a semi-transparent medium – the paint on its own will not hide the base even after several coats.
• It works only over a WHITE base. The manufacturer itself recommends a white surface or white primer. Over gray plastic or a dark base the shade stays dirty, dark and dull – it does not glow.
• Fluorescent pigments fade in light over time. That is a property of fluorescent paints in general. Do not display the finished model in direct sun and count on the shade not being as intense after some years as on the day it was applied.

The procedure is therefore clear: a white base, let it dry properly, and only then several thin coats of the fluorescent orange until the shade lights up.

Use

• Conspicuous training and rescue areas on aircraft – typically the wingtips and tail surfaces of trainers.
• Warning and signal elements on vehicles and rescue services.
• Racing finishes and modern sports schemes.
• Sci-fi, futuristic models and gaming miniatures, where a glowing accent fits.

Who the paint is for

For modelers of aircraft with training and rescue schemes, for builders of racing and modern vehicles and for sci-fi modelers. Suitable for anyone who knows that a fluorescent shade is an effect paint that needs a white base – not a universal covering orange.

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. When spraying with an airbrush ensure sufficient ventilation and protect your airways (a respirator). Keep out of the reach of children. The paint is supplied on its own; brushes, thinner and the model are not included in the package.
