Golden Olive 17ml

AK interactive Golden Olive, 17 ml — acrylic modeling paint

Golden Olive is an acrylic paint for modelers from the 3rd Generation range from AK interactive in a dropper bottle holding 17 ml. It is a modeling paint, not a kit. The binder is acrylic, so it is water-thinnable: dense pigmentation, good coverage, quick drying to matte, application with brush and airbrush.

The shade matches its name — it is a warm olive shifted toward yellow, a golden olive. Against cool green tones it looks softer and more sunlit, so it suits everywhere an olive color should be warmed, faded or lit. At the same time it is an excellent tone for lightening a dark olive base color without having to mix white into it, which spoils the shade.

Use

• Camouflage schemes — warm olive areas on aircraft and on ground vehicles.
• Military vehicles and equipment — cargo beds, crates, jerrycans, satchels, helmets and other gear.
• The uniforms of figures — olive clothing and accessories, where a cool green looks dead.
• Lightening and modulation — it is mixed into darker olives and olive drab tones instead of white; ideal on upper surfaces and edges.
• A base under filters and washes — a warm ground that comes out nicely after weathering.

Thinning and application

It is thinned with water or with the AK acrylic thinner for the 3rd Generation range, never with lacquer thinner. Shake the bottle before use. For the airbrush thin the paint to the consistency of milk and spray in thin coats; with a brush it is usable almost straight away. On a smooth primed surface the shade comes out cleaner and more evenly.

Who the paint is for

For modelers of military vehicles, aircraft modelers and figure painters who need a warm olive tone — whether as a color in its own right or as a lightening component in darker olives. Suitable for beginners and advanced builders alike.
