It is not a figure or a kit. An acrylic stand is a flat cut-out of clear acrylic with color printing that seats in a base and stands on a desk, a shelf or in a display case. The printing carries the motif of the character Mari Makinami from the anime Evangelion. The item falls into the Ichibansho line and carries the subtitle Operation Started!, which groups the whole set of Evangelion stands together. The customer gets a finished piece with nothing further to do to it.
Mari Makinami is a pilot whom the story adds only in the newer run of Evangelion films, so a viewer will not find her in the older television series. She is more carefree and more aggressive than the rest of the crew, and her marks of recognition are her glasses and a rust-toned pilot suit. She enters the story as a new variable that breaks up the settled relationships among the original three pilots.
