A Tamiya LP-range modeling paint in a light brown shade, designation LP-77 Light Brown, referencing 1941 desert coloring.
Responsibility details are not available.
LP-77 Light Brown is a light brown tone from the Tamiya LP paint range. The suffix DAK 1941 refers to the coloring of German equipment deployed in North Africa, where the dark European coat was overpainted with lighter sand and brown tones matching desert terrain. Choose the thinner and mixing ratio per the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, or reach for the thinner made for this range.
Light brown is the base color of desert schemes for armored and cargo equipment, artillery and transport crates. It also works outside the desert: as a base under dust deposits, dried mud in wheel arches, on tarps, wood and figures' leather straps. Slightly lightened, it works well for highlighting upper surfaces and edges, which faded fastest on real equipment.
Mix the bottle thoroughly before use, since the pigment settles to the bottom during storage. Apply several thin coats; one heavy coat buries fine relief and edges lose their sharpness. Test the shade on a scrap of plastic beforehand, since the sample on the packaging and the cured coat can differ. Coat the area with a gloss varnish before decals, since silvery patches form under a decal on a matte base. Save weathering with pigments and oil paints for a fully dried coat.
The model, thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
