A set of five mixing bowls for modeling painting from MH Models. It is neither a paint nor an accessory for a model, but an aid for the workbench: paint is measured out, thinned and mixed in the bowls before it gets onto the model.

Maintenance and what to watch out for

Clean a bowl right after you finish working, while the paint is still wet — a dried film is far harder to remove and scraping it off will scratch the surface of the bowl. Use the thinner appropriate to the paint used: water-thinnable acrylics are rinsed with water or an acrylic cleaner, while solvent-based paints and lacquers call for the corresponding thinner. Always clean a bowl thoroughly between different chemistries and let it dry; the remains of another paint can curdle a new mixture. Do not leave an aggressive solvent standing in the bowls for any length of time until you have checked on one bowl how it behaves.
