Model Vac: vacuuming and collecting scenic materials

Model Vac from Woodland Scenics takes care of the unpleasant part of landscape work: clearing up and recovering material that did not take to the glue. Working with static grass, ballast and scatter always leaves a considerable amount of loose fiber and grains on a diorama. They are hard to pick up by hand, and an ordinary vacuum cleaner takes them straight into the dust bag. Model Vac is an aid made precisely to draw them off and catch them so that the material can be used again. It is not a model or a kit, but workshop equipment.

Use

• Let the glue on the diorama dry thoroughly, and only then vacuum off the surplus
• Connect the aid to a source of suction as described in the manufacturer's instructions
• Draw off loose fiber and scatter with short passes over the surface, without pressing on it
• Once emptied, sort the collected material and return it to its container
• The recovered material can also be sorted by length and shade and used for the next layer of growth

Who it is for

The aid will be appreciated by anyone who works with static grass and loose scenic materials repeatedly, that is builders of layouts, dioramas and scenic boards. Grass fiber goes a long way when it is returned to use, and on larger areas that shows. The second reason is clean work: recovered fiber does not end up on the floor or on other models under construction.

Use the aid as described in the manufacturer's instructions. Do not inhale loose materials, and ventilate the room when working with dust for longer periods. Grass fiber, scatter and the source of suction are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
