An earthy red-brown shade, FS 30117, from the Real Colors line by AK Interactive. It is thinned with the thinner intended for this line.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation FS 30117 comes from the American Federal Standard 595, in which every shade is described by a five-digit number. The leading three means a flat finish, and the following digits place the tone in the group of brown shades. The name Earth Red matches that, meaning an earthy red-brown. The number eight in the name distinguishes the individual shades within the line; the tone itself is set by the standard number.
Shades described by a number from the standard are convenient for modelers because building instructions and color profiles refer to them, so you do not have to guess the tone from a photograph. An earthy red-brown works on large surfaces and as part of a multi-color camouflage, where it meets green and sand tones.
The bottle of paint alone is supplied. Thinner, brushes, varnishes and a color chart are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The volume of the package and the recommended thinner are given in the manufacturer's information on the packaging.
