The elongated 25x70 mm ellipse fits under bases whose outline has no corners but is not round either. In practice that most often means a rider on a horse, a motorcycle and slim figures caught in movement, where the length markedly exceeds the width.
If a round disc lay under an elongated bottom, only the middle third would be held and both ends would lift when touched. An ellipse, by contrast, follows the outline right out to the narrowed tips and divides the hold along the whole length, so the model stays stuck down even when the transport box is tilted.
The count of parts matches the fact that this oval is one of the smaller ones in the range. A single pack is enough to fit out a whole mounted unit or a group of couriers, and something is still left over for later additions.
Lay the ellipse so that its longer axis runs from the head to the tail of the model. Check that the tips do not project beyond the outline of the bottom anywhere. Wipe the glued part with a cloth now and then, because metal dust from sanding clings to a magnetic surface and then reduces the mating area.
A transport case with steel, the bases and the models themselves are bought separately and are not part of this item.
A last note concerns storage. Leave unused ellipses lying flat and separated by a sheet of paper; stuck together they are harder to part and forcing them apart tears the edge of the thin material. A decal box serves for storage better than a bag, in which the parts bend.
