What the number RAL 7009 says

RAL is the German standard of color shades, and a number in it stands for one precisely defined tone. The group is determined by the first digit, and gray shades begin with a seven. RAL 7009 is among the lighter ones in the group. Gray tones tend to be the hardest-working part of the palette in modeling: they cover light camouflage, concrete and metal surfaces of bases, and they are used to brighten areas that are meant to look faded on the model.

How to work with the pen

• Let the applied paint dry between coats, otherwise the next pass will smear it.
• On small areas guide the tip in short strokes in one direction, not in circles.
• Try the shade out in a hidden spot before you touch a visible surface.
• Remove dust and grease from the surface before applying.
• Wipe the tip after work and close the pen carefully.
