RLM 73 – AIR

RLM 73 - AK 3rd Generation Acrylics AIR (17 ml)

A water-thinnable acrylic paint of 17 ml from the AIR aviation range. RLM 73 is a darker green tone with a flat finish and high covering power. The paint sprays like a lacquer and is ready for the airbrush, it is thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner and it is non-toxic and not flammable.

Historical use

RLM 73 Grün complemented the lighter RLM 72 in the camouflage of German maritime aircraft. Together they made up the upper splinter scheme of coastal and seaplane machines, which was paired with the light blue underside. It appeared on aircraft such as the Ar 196, the He 115 and the Do 24 used over the sea.

Use

• Thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner, cleaned with water while still wet.
• Airbrush unthinned or slightly thinned, usually at 15 to 20 PSI.
• Suitable for a brush as well, because the self-leveling suppresses strokes.
• Best over a sprayed base coat or over a primer, and a hard splinter edge is sprayed through a mask.

Who it is for

For modelers building German maritime and coastal aircraft who need the darker green of the splinter.

Shake before use. Work in a ventilated space and keep out of the reach of children.
