A light sand tone for the desert camouflage of military vehicles. It suits the base surface of vehicles deployed in a dry, hot environment, where the whole machine is covered by one light finish, and it also works as the lightest of the three colors of a desert pattern. It is useful on the small things that go with such vehicles as well: on crates, jerrycans, tarpaulins and the equipment of the crew.
The item belongs to the Orange Line range from Hataka. Within the range it sits in a continuous group of shades with French names, among them a dark green referring to NATO, an earthy brown and further desert tones. The group therefore aims at modern ground vehicles, and the individual shades can be put together into a whole camouflage scheme. The abbreviation at the end of the name is part of the shade designation; on its own it says nothing about the properties of the paint in the package.
The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging; reach for the same thinner when cleaning your tools. Shake the bottle well before work, the pigment settles. Apply in thin coats: light sand tones tend to cover unevenly and one heavy coat floods the fine detail. Try the shade on a piece of scrap plastic, because after drying and after a clear coat it shifts. A large uniform area looks flat, so it pays to lighten the center of the panels slightly and darken the edges instead.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
