S.C.C. No.1A Very Dark Brown 17 ml.

Real Colors RC873 S.C.C. No.1A Very Dark Brown, 17 ml

An acrylic modeling paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive, the manufacturer's part number RC873, 17 ml package. The abbreviation S.C.C. stands for Standard Camouflage Colour, the British standard designation of camouflage shades. Number 1A belongs to a very dark brown.

The color

The very dark brown served British equipment as an overall finish in the middle part of the Second World War, before an olive shade carried under number 15 replaced it in service. On a model it suits wherever you want a British vehicle of the earlier period, and it serves equally well as a dark base under later coats or as a tone for shadows in deep places.

How to work with the paint

• Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before loading the brush, or you will lay down a tone short of pigment.
• A dark finish easily swallows detail, so build the paint up from thin coats and keep the engraving legible.
• Large areas are brought to life by lightening the middle of the panels with a drop of a lighter tone.
• For thinning and for cleaning tools, use a thinner intended for the Real Colors range; the manufacturer's instructions state the ratio.
• Make test sprays on an offcut, not on a finished part.

Packaging and storage

Close the bottle carefully after work and keep it away from heat and frost, as open paint thickens. Thickened paint can be thinned again; check the shade on a sample afterward. The package holds one bottle of paint of 17 ml. The thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
