A helmet on a figure is always darker and cooler than cloth, and Lifecolor Polish Helmet Dark Green aims at exactly that. A water-based acrylic paint for Polish figures and their kit.

A steel helmet never looks like fabric. It is smoother, darker and reflects light in narrow strips along the brim and the edge of the shell. The shade Polish Helmet Dark Green from Lifecolor is a water-based acrylic paint that holds this dark green separately so that a helmet does not merge with the uniform on a figure.
A difference of values makes the silhouette
A small figure is read mainly through its outline. When a helmet has the same value as the blouse, the head merges optically with the shoulders and the figure loses legibility. A dark green against a khaki uniform creates the difference by itself, and it is enough to add a gentle brightening of the upper crown, where the most light falls. On the brim and in the places where the helmet rubs against kit, the steel is rubbed through to bare metal, so small light points on the edges are exactly what creates the metallic impression. The inside of the helmet and the surface under the brim, by contrast, stay in deep shadow and it is good to leave them dark even when the figure is lit from above.
For figure painters who build Polish soldiers, and for modelers who are missing a dark green as a counterweight to the lighter uniform khakis.
