The vertical surfaces of Italian warships of the Second World War rest on a dark gray tone, which in the Lifecolor acrylic range is represented by Italian Regia Marina Grigio Scuro. A water-based acrylic paint for models of the surface units of the Regia Marina.
Responsibility details are not available.
A dark gray naval shade from the Lifecolor acrylic range, intended for models of the surface ships of the Italian wartime navy. The Italian name Grigio Scuro corresponds to dark gray, and in the Regia Marina system it is the darker component of the two-tone finish that Italian cruisers and destroyers wore. The paint is acrylic, water-based.
The vertical surface against the horizontal
With a ship model the shades are not divided by part but by the orientation of the surface. The hull sides, the fronts of the superstructures, the funnels and the gun turrets are verticals: the observer sees them against the water and against the distant horizon, and it is on them that the darker gray belongs. Horizontal surfaces, that is, the decks and the tops of the superstructures, behave entirely differently from above and have a deck tone of their own in the Italian system. Grigio Scuro is the shade for the verticals, not for the decks.
For builders of ships in 1:700, 1:350 and in larger scales who want a shade for Italian units that corresponds to the period designation, not just a general gray. It will also serve well where a contrasting dark field with a sharp boundary against a lighter color is needed on a hull.
Keep out of the reach of children, work with good ventilation and close the container carefully after use.
