Water Tint - Olive Drab

Water Tint, an olive green tinting color for model water

A concentrated color from the American maker Woodland Scenics. It is not an opaque paint for models but a tinting medium, which is added drop by drop into the pouring and surface water media of the same maker. The olive green shade corresponds to water rich in algae and plants, that is to ponds, oxbows, overgrown canals, irrigation ditches and still pools. It is precisely such a cast that sets living still water apart from a crystal mountain lake.

Use

• Add drop by drop into the mixed medium and stir as you go.
• Dose it carefully, as the intensity can only be raised and the color can no longer be taken back.
• It looks the most natural together with a dark muddy bottom and with vegetation by the bank.
• Try the shade on a sample with the same thickness of layer as the scene will have.
• By combining it with the murky medium you will get the typical opaque water of a summer pond.

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas, layouts and scenes with country or industrial water. Suitable for figure modelers and modelers of military vehicles too, who build views with a ford, a flooded road or an overgrown canal.

The color is highly concentrated and stains strongly, so protect your working surface and your clothing. Keep out of the reach of children and avoid contact with the eyes.
