Model Craft Zona 35-400 Flush Cutting Saw - a flush cutting saw

The Zona 35-400 from Model Craft is a fine flush cutting saw with a flexible blade and fine teeth that have no set. It lets you cut pins, tenons and overhangs level with the surface without the blade scratching the surrounding material. It is not a kit but a hand tool for modelers.

Use

  • The blade has roughly sixteen teeth per inch and cuts on the pull stroke.
  • With no steel stiffener along the back, the saw therefore reaches as deep into the material as you need.
  • Ideal for cleaning up projecting strips, tenons and joints and for work in places that are hard to reach.
  • The blade is about one hundred sixty-five millimeters long and around three tenths of a millimeter thick.

It suits modelers working in wood and plastic, ship builders and anyone who needs a clean flush cut without damaging the surrounding area.

The saw is sharp: cut away from your body, guide it with a smooth stroke and watch out for your fingers.

FAQ

The teeth have no set, so during a flush cut the blade does not rub into the surrounding area and it cuts the overhang level with it.

It cuts on the pull stroke, that is on the movement toward the modeler.

It is a saw with a fixed flexible blade, not a set with interchangeable blades.
