Polish interwar hardware is represented rather modestly in the modeling range, which makes the series of small models that Zebranomodel is building in 1:100 scale all the more interesting. This set represents the wz.34 armored car in the gun-armed form, as the designation of the weapon in the name suggests. The model builds quickly and fits into a collection of 1939 vehicles as well as into a small scene. The number of parts, the material of the castings and the extent of any decals are not stated here.
The wz.34 was a Polish armored car created in the 1930s by rebuilding an older chassis of French origin. The design carried a riveted armored hull with a small rotating turret. The vehicles existed in two basic armament forms — machine gun and gun armed; this set corresponds to the form with the short 37 mm SA 18 gun with a barrel 21 calibers long. The type served with Polish units at the end of the 1930s.
The vehicle has more small parts than you would expect on a model this size. Work over a light surface with a raised edge so that parts flying off do not end up on the floor, and apply the glue on the tip of a wire. Do not flood the riveted hull with a heavy coat of paint — a thin primer and a thinned base shade keep the structure of the rivets, which a thin wash and a fine dry brush then draw out. Check the short barrel for alignment with the turret, as a crooked barrel is the first thing a viewer notices. The finished model looks good on a strip of base with a suggested field track; dust on the wheels closes the scene off.
